Ronnie Laird
As the head of Drilling and Field Operations, Ronnie Laird is responsible for managing a wide range of tasks and responsibilities that are related to the TerraFina Energy drilling program. He develops the drilling plan paying special attention to the cost to the company, health, and safety of the workers, and environmental policies. Apart from the planning, Ronnie is the key to reducing expenditures, maximizing returns, and managing all the associated personnel.
With 50-years of experience in the oilfield, Ronnie estimates he has drilled more than 8,000 wells. Among his notable projects are a 22,000' Eagle Ford well drill in only 7 days and while with Placid Oil Company Ronnie drilled what was at the time, the deepest well in the world. His many years of experience include drilling onshore and offshore in Louisiana, Texas, and Mississippi. He has supervised production and drilling on multi-well platforms, jack-up rigs and semi-submersible operations. He has conducted ultra-deep drilling, horizontal drilling in the Haynesville shale in Louisiana and Texas, and the Wolf Camp and Bone Springs in Texas and New Mexico as well as the Austin Chalk, Buda and Eagle Ford shale in Texas.
