Rebecca Ponton

It has taken us longer than we would have liked, but we have added another woman to the team.  Rebecca Ponton is a journalist who began her career as a petroleum landman in 2011, during the height of the Eagle Ford Shale boom. She has conducted land and title work throughout central and south Texas. As the editor in chief at US Energy Media (Oilman, Oilwoman, and Energies Magazine), she talks to industry leaders, such as Al Vickers, Starlee Sykes, Dave Payne, Iman Hill, Gaurdie Banister, and others. She is also the author of Breaking the GAS Ceiling: Women in the Offshore Oil & Gas Industry (Modern History Press; 2019). A native Texan, she spent 14 years overseas, including 12 years in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. She earned her Bachelor of Arts - English from UTSA and obtained her landman certification from UT Petroleum Extension (PETEX).
